As of mid-August 2022, Texpad will be called Texifier.

Why change the name?

This is in response to a brand conflict that was highlighted with a similarly named plain text editor app. As we expand to Windows in near future, this conflict was even more important to resolve as the other app is a Windows app.

What does it mean for existing users?

The name change should have no impact to your access to the app and the licence you purchased in the past.

macOS

  • For users who have bought the app directly from us, the app will simply be called Texifier from your next update. The app with the new name will respect your licence just like Texpad did.

  • For users who have purchased the app via Apple’s App Store, the renamed app will still be available in your list of purchases and updates to the app will be served under the new name Texifier.

iOS

The renamed app will still be available in your list of purchases and updates to the app will be served under the new name Texifier.

Updates to online documentation

As the website contains a great deal of documentation, these pages may still contain some references to the old name. We’re updating these as soon as it is possible, but please note that all of the documentation on this website refers to the app Texifier, i.e. the old app Texpad and not any other app.
