Using Hide Intermediate Files option and packages that may not typeset with it

In order to keep the working directory clean Texifier will by default create a hidden .texpadtmp directory in the same path as the root file and use this for all intermediate files created whilst typesetting. It goes to great lengths to ensure that this does not interfere with typesetting your documents. Occasionally you may use packages that conflict with this option. Texifier in such cases auto-corrects itself and switched the option off.

However some packages call external tools which are unaware of LaTeX’s intermediate files setting and hence cannot find these intermediate files. In order to typeset with these packages you must uncheck the “Hide intermediate files” option in Texifier’s preferences.

Known packages with this problem are

  • Minted
  • Gnu plot
  • dot2tex
